President Paul Biya returns to the country
Cameroon’s Chief Executive Paul Biya and First lady Chantal have returned to the country.The presidential couple landed at the Yaoundé Nsimalen International Airport on Saturday 21st October 2017 and were welcomed by a teaming crowd of CPDM supporters and state dignitaries.
The President of the Republic returns to the country after taking part at the 72nd General Assembly of the United Nations where he presented Cameroon’s views on topical issues affecting the globe. President Paul Biya all held high level talks with world leaders on the sidelines of the continental gathering.
Shortly after the Presidential Aircraft landed the President of the Senate, Marcel Niat Njifenji; the Speaker of the National Assembly, Honourable Cavaye Yeguie Djibril and the Secretary General at the Presidency of the Republic, Mr. Ferdinard Ngoh Ngoh welcomed the Head of State at the foot of the plane.
After the airport civilities, the Head of State granted three airport audiences that lasted about thirty minutes. The first audience was granted to the President of the Senate.
He was closely followed by the House Speaker, and subsequently to the Secretary General at the Presidency of the Republic.
In an adjacent room, the First Lady discussed with spouses of President Paul Biya’s close collaborators.
Cameroonians are hopeful that the return of the Head of State to the country marks a new page in seeking solutions to what is now referred to as the Anglophone Problem.
The President a week after delegations of elites led by the Prime Minister Philemon Yang went to the subdivisions to spread the President’s message of peace and dialogue.
