Fighting Tuberculosis: BCG vaccine arrives Cameroon; to be dispatched in 72 hours
The BCG vaccine against tuberculosis is now available in the country!
The Minister of Public Health, Andre Mama Fouda made this announcement in a communiqué signed this 18th December, 2017.
The communiqué states that the vaccine arrived the Yaounde Nsimalen International Airport on 16th December 2017.
The Minister says appropriate measures are put in place to dispatch the vaccine to accreditated health centres nationwide within 72 hours.
The Public Health boss exhorts all parents in waiting to go to their usual health centres for vaccination as from Thursday, 21st December 2017.
This announcement is relief to many whose children have not received the dose since early December 2017.
The BCG vaccine is one of the first administered to children, after birth.
The vaccine protects the new born from the deadly, infectious airborne disease, tuberculosis.
