Universal Health Care Coverage: 1300 billion CFA Francs estimated for Cameroon.
A sum of 1300 billion Francs CFA has been agreed upon as value for Universal Health Coverage for Cameroon.
The amount was validated this Tuesday 11th December 2017 at the Yaounde Mont Fébé Hotel by the Inter – Sector Technical Committee in charge of drafting the Cameroonian Health Care model, coverage packages and cost.
The committee made up of wealth care professionals and universal health care coverage partners met for three days.
The Minister of Public Health Andre Mama Fouda present during the discussions expressed satisfaction that experts have unanimously validated the cost of Universal Health Care coverage for all.
The coverage plan will include diseases and other health care services detailed in the document.
A total of 125 pathologies have been selected on the basis of cost and specialization.
The committee fixes to submit the complete report to government on 14th December 2017.
The committee is also working to hamornise schemes within the formal and informal sectors so that a common national strategy for universal health care coverage can go operational in 2018 in Cameroon.
