Central African President on a Technical stopover in Douala

The President of the Central African Republic, His Excellency Faustin Archange Touadera is in Cameroon’s economic capital Douala on a technical stopover to Italy.

The Karibou Airlines airplane carrying the Central African leader landed at the Douala International Airport minutes after 10 am.

The Governor of the South Region, Samuel Dieudonne Ivaha Diboua welcomed His Excellency Faustin Archange Touadera shortly after his aircraft taxied at the Douala International Airport.

The administrative and consular authorities of the Littoral region also turned out welcome the visiting President.

The visiting President and the Governor of the Littoral region held discussions at the VIP lounge. Their discussions focused on the state of relations between Cameroon and the Central African Republic and the purpose of his visit to Rome.

President Faustin Archange Touadera has taken temporal residence at the Douala Sawa hotel ahead of his flight to Rome scheduled for 11:30 pm.

He expected to attend a four day meeting on peace and reconciliation organised by Sant Ejidio, a platform mediating peace in his country.

Huge crowd Central Africans turned out to welcome their President who is on his first technical stopover in Cameroon for the year 2018.

The technical stopover comes less than a week after a delegation from Central African Republic was in Cameroon to thank Cameroon’s Head of State for the supporting and facilitating efforts to restore peace and security in the Central African Republic.
