Illegal Immigration: two foreigners caught in luggage.
A Toyota avensis registered L04003 was interceded during routine checks at Djob by the Gendarmerie in the South region carrying uncommon luggage. Two men were found in the back boot of the vehicle driven by Warrant officer Patrice on 18th January 2018 at Djob Dam.
On board the vehicle were Warrant Officer Patrice and his colleague Emmanuel all servicemen in Cameroon transporting two foreigners from Malian and Bukina Faso.
The two illegal immigrants found at back booth of the vehicle were Dabone Ibrahim, born on 1st January 1982 in Kendkodogo in Burkina Faso and Camara Alhassane, born on 18th November 1993 in Bamako, Mali.
Two Cameroonians soldiers have held for facilitating clandestine immigration.
The vehicle also carried two Cameroonian passengers, Gbetnkom Oumarou, born 17th December 1983 born in Foyett and Ndndem Ibrahim, born in Nkimom. The two traders, who sell at the border town of Kye-Ossi, are said to have joined the journey in Ebolowa.
Preliminary investigations were carried out at the South Gendarmerie Legion. The military officers, suspects of facilitating illegal immigration will be transferred to the Military Security (Semil) for further investigations while the two foreigners at the disposal of the competence police for illegal immigration.
