2019 AFCON: Second CAF inspection team in Cameroon
The second CAF inspection mission is in Cameroon ahead of a four evaluation exercise.
The two man delegation is made up of the following;
An expert from the Roland Burger Audit Firm – Louis Romain
An official from the Confederations of African Football,CAF – Ismail Wally
According to the programme schedule, the experts will be evaluating facilities and sites to host the 2019 AFCON in Garoua this Monday 19th March 2018.
During their one day tour of the North region,the CAF team will visit the following sites;
– Coton Sport of Garoua Sports Complexe
– Poumpoumre training ground
– Rey-re training stadium
– Roumde-Adjia Omnisport Stadium
– Annex Stadium of the Roumde-Aidja Omnisport Complexe
At 4 p.m the delegates are expected to be on board in a special flight for the Yaounde Nsimalen Airport.
After Garoua,the CAF mission will evaluate sporting infrastructure and facilities in Bafoussam on 20th March 2018,the two man crew will be in Douala on March 21 and in Yaounde on 22nd March 2018 to end their visit.https://www.crtv.cm/2018/01/2019-afcon-caf-inspection-team-in-cameroon/
Just to note that, the CAF inspection had a brief chat with the Minister of Sports and Physical Education,Bidoung Mpkatt early this Monday 19th March 2018 before boarding for Garoua in the North of Cameroon.
The visiting delegation used the meeting to stress on the need for Cameroon to effectively implement the recommendations from the first CAF inspection mission.
The Head of the delegation, Ismail Wally saluted government’s effort in putting in place the various needs that will facilitate their assignment in the country.
Their visit comes on the heels of the Prime Minister’s tour of sites and facilities in regions shortlisted to host the participating teams at the 2019 AFCON.
The evaluation trip conducted by the Prime Minister,Head of Government took him and his caravan to Garoua,Douala and Yoaunde.
During the trip,the PM accessed construction works at the Roumde-Aidja Stadium,the Japoma Soccer ground, the Olembe Stadium,hotels,health facilities,road infrastructure,leisure sites amongst many others.
The first CAF inspection team was in Cameroon between 12th -24th January 2018,during their sojourn, the delegation toured the towns of Garoua,Bafoussam,Limbe,Yaounde and Douala.
