2019 AFCON : CAF unveils official Logo,Cameroon heave sigh of relief
The Confederation of African Football, CAF has revealed the official logo of the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations, AFCON.
The new development appears to be good news for Cameroon chosen to host the competition amidst controversies.
The country has been on edge as she prepares for the competition after repeated rumours pointing to an imminent disqualification.
There have been unfounded claims that Cameroon will not be ready to host one of the biggest continental rendez-vous.
The propagators claim the country still lags behind after two CAF inspection tours of facilities needed for the competition.
Many feared the country will not meet-up with the prescribed deadline to complete the different sports/health infrastructure, transport network, communication systems and security amongst others which come into play for the competion.
To increase the fear, the second CAF inspection mission left Cameroon with no official pronouncement.
All these left Cameroonians very uncertain until the official AFCON logo published, rekindled hopes.
The release of the 2019 AFCON Logo with the name, “Cameroon” boldly inscribed on it gives reason to heave a sigh of relieve.
Many state that the beautiful dream of Cameroon hosting the 2019 AFCON is gradually becoming a reality.
In the meantime, work at the sites and facilities shortlisted to host the participating teams in the towns of Limbe, Buea, Douala, Bafoussam, Yaounde and Garoua intensify.
The Local Organising Committee of the 2019 AFCON,COCAN is leaving no stone unturn with frequent evaluation field missions .
The President of CAF, Ahmad Ahmad, in a surprising turn-around, promised to use his office to assist Cameroon in the organisation of a successful 2019 AFCON.
Many have agreed that a wide range of Cameroonians must have contributed to consolidate the country’s bid.
Pressure has been brought to bear on competent authorities to take swift decision at the different level of preparations.
