President Paul Biya grants farewell audience to Chinese Ambassador Wei Wenhua

The President of the Republic, His Excellency Paul BIYA has granted a farewell audience to the outgoing Chinese Ambassador to Cameroon.

During the audience, Ambassador Wei Wenhua was raised to the prestigious rank of Grand Officer of the Order of Valour.

The outgoing Chinese Diplomat was decorated with Cameroon’s highest medal reserved for foreign dignitaries during a farewell audience at the Unity Palace on Thursday 26th April 2018.

Ambassador Wei Wenhua expressed his gratitude to the Head of State for the mark of honour. He said, “This decoration is not only an honour to me but it profoundly touches the hearts of the Chinese people. This decoration is a perfect end to my diplomatic journey and I will also be proud of being ambassador of the people’s republic of China to Cameroon.”

In addition to the medal, President Paul Biya offered bronze designed talking drum as gift to the Chinese diplomat.

The farewell audience comes a month after President Paul Biya paid a historic State Visit to the People’s Republic of China from the 22nd to 24nd March 2018.

The visit to Beijing and Shanghai, upon the invitation of President Xi JINPING, testifies of the excellent friendly and fruit cooperation Beijing and Yaoundé.

The outing Chinese diplomat described the future cooperation ties between the two countries as successful especially following the recent signing of five cooperation agreements in Beijing.

Ambassador Wei Wenhua leaves Cameroon after three years at the head of his countries diplomatic mission to Yaoundé. He presented his letters of credence on 6th January 2015.
