2018 International cycling tour: The stage is set for the competition that begins Saturday 26th May
The kickoff of the 2018 International Cycling Tour of Cameroon is Saturday 26th May. The confirmation was made by the Minister of Sports and Physical Education Bidoung Kpwatt.
The Minister and other stakeholders in charge of the organisation, attest that all is set for the prestigious tour to begin.
In a preparatory meetings ahead of the cycling tour, the President of the Cameroon Cycling Federation, Honoré Yossi stated that all committees have completed their assignment and there is total assurance that the competition will be hitch free.
The Secretary General of the federation, Louis Eloumou also confirmed the country’s readiness to host the competition.
“We are practically in the final phase and we are refining the last adjustments for the smooth running of the race”.
To maximise her chance of winning, Cameroon will be presenting two teams.
In the meantime, the different delegations to take part in the competition are expected in Cameroon on Thursday 24th May 2018.
Some 60 cyclists will be on the start line this Saturday in Pouma for the first lap.
The first lapse begins in Pouma to the seaside resort, Kribi.
The Minister of Sports and Physical Education Bidoung Kpwatt is expected to chair the opening ceremony.
The 15th edition of the International Cycling Tour of Cameroon will be made up of eight stages, following the programme schedule detailed below;
1st Lap: Pouma- kribi ( Saturday 26th May)
2nd Lap: Kribi-Douala (Sunday 27th May)
3rd Lap: Douala-Douala -criterium (Monday 28th May)
4th Lap: Douala-Limbe;Semme Beach (Tuesday 29th May)
Wednesday 30th May 2018 will be a day of recess in limbe.
5th Lap: Mbanga-Bafang (Thursday 31st May)
6th Lap: Bafoussam- Dschang- Bafoussam (Friday 1st June)
7th Lap: Tonga- Bangangte- Tonga (Saturday 2nd June)
8th Lap: Bafia-Yaounde (Sunday 3rd June)
