COSAFA tournament: Cameroon beat Mozambique 8-1
The Cameroon’s national women football team has thrashed Mozambique 8-1 during their first game at the 8th Council of Southern Africa Football Associations Cup, COSAFA tournament.
The encountered was played on 13th Thursday 13th September 2018 in the South African city of Port Elizabeth.
During the match described by many as a brilliant of tactic and style, the indomitable lionesses opened score at the 5th minute.
Mbappe, netted twice for the Lionesses, scoring at the 5th and 54th minutes. Mpeh who scored three times, seal the 8-1 victory at the 89th minute with a last minute goal.
Abena, Meyong Menene and Nkada also found the back of the net.
The Indomitable Lionesses Head coach Joseph Ndoko said they are focused on preparing their next group game against Zambia on Saturday 15th September 2018.
So far, women tops Group B with 3 points, 8 goals scored and 1 conceded. They are followed by Zambia that humbled Lesotho 2-0 on while Mozambique and Zambia are thrid and fourth respectively.
Cameroon and Uganda are the only two nations invited to the championship which is reserved exclusively for Southern Africa countries.
The Lionesses participation is intended to prepare the squad for the 2018 Africa Cup of Nations in Ghana.
