Presidential Election 2018: SDF candidate favours school resumption
The candidate of the lead opposition party, the Social Democratic Front, has encouraged parents to send their children to school.
Osih Joshua made the statement this Monday, 3rd September 2018 as the 2018/2019 School year in Cameroon begins.
Through a tweet to his followers, the Presidential candidate currently on an international tour to meet voters in the diaspora stated; “Let’s decide together, to make of this academic year the last of an inadequate educational system. I am committed to create a system that will make great leaders that will be development actors. Let’s mobilize if you believe it. While in the wait, my regards to all parents”
Osih Joshua was reacted as a parent though his three sons, all in the 20s, are attending school out of the country.
The 49 year old husband to Tina Osih is also the first Cameroonian who hails from the South West region to become Member of the Parliament in the Douala.
The astute politician joined the Social Democratic Front (SDF) in March 1991.
Eleven years later, he was elected regional chairman of the Social Democratic Front for the South West region.
He was elected 2nd Vice Chairman of the party in 2006. Since 2012, he is 1st Vice Chairman of the party, chosen as party’s candidate for 2018 Presidential election at an Extra-ordinary convention of the party.
Osih is first to be SDF Presidential election besides the party’s chairman John Fru Ndi.
The flagbearer of the Social Democratic Front is viewed as inspiration to the younger generation of supporters of the SDF.
