Camtel: Judith Yah Sunday Achidi is the new General manager.

The new Camtel Director General has been installed. She was installed by the Minister of Telecommunications, Minette Li Libom Likeng.

Judith Yah Sunday Achidi was appointed by presidential decreee on 14th December 2018. She is the wife of the first anglophone Prime Minister of Cameroon , Simon Achidi Achu. He served the government from 1991 -1994.

Mrs Achidi takes over from David Nkoto Emane who has been at the helm of the institution for thirteen years. Before her appointment, the new Director General was the commercial Director at Camtel.

Academic Background

The new Camtel Director General holds a Professional Masters in money, Banking and International Finance from the International
Relations Institute of Cameroon, IRIC.

In 1991, she obtained a Bachelor of Science from the University of Quebec, Montreal, Canada.

She is currently a Phd student at IRIC , researching on the topic, “Audit Committees and the efficacy of Administrative Boards of Public companies in Africa’.

She was formerly the Commercial Director at Camtel. The new Camtel boss has been the Regional delegate for the North West, South West, Littoral and the Centre regions. Mrs Achidi has been advocating for good governance and in private/ public sectors in Cameroon , and beyond.

Besides responsibilities at Camtel, the dynamic and outgoing lady has been very active in socio-cultural activities , especially empowering rural women .

She is currently the president of the international auditors of Cameroon, and the Vice President for Central Africa , for the Federation of African institutes of Internal Auditors AFIA, with headquarters in Tanzania.

The seasoned professional and Telecommunications expert is also a member of the ruling CPDM party, and holds many traditional titles.
