Audience at Presidency: convergence of views between China and Cameroon

President Paul Biya has granted audience to the special representative of Chinese President Xi JINPING.

Yang Jiechi, member of the political bureau of the Chinese communist party reviewed China – Cameroon relations with President Paul Biya.

The visit is the first for a senior Chinese since President Paul BIYA paid a State visit to the People’s Republic of China in March 2018 and in September when he participated at the third Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC)

The discussions focused on strengthening cooperation ties between both countries in 2019 through other high-level visits from Beijing.

After the audience at the State House, the Chinese official and his accompanying delegation had a working session with the Minister of External Relations.
The Prime Minister – Head of Government, Joseph Dion Ngute offered a State Dinner to Mr Yang Jiechi on behalf of the President of the Republic.

On Saturday, 19th January 2018, the Prime Minister bid farewell to the Chinese official marking at end to the two day official visit.
