Promote 2019: PM launches the international trade fair

The 7th edition of the international trade fair dubbed Promote has been launched this Monday 18th February 2019 by Prime Minister Head of Government.

The fair has brought together hundreds of companies and institutions to the Yaoundé Conference Centre to showcase their services and products.

The Ministry of trade and partners charged with the organisation of the fair all lauded the presence of the participating firms and laid emphasis on its importance to the economic growth of Cameroon.

The Government Delegate to the Yaoundé Urban Council Ntimi Evouna expressed satisfaction with the organisation of the fair in his town.

He said young entrepreneurs have much to learn from the exhibitors if they want operate successful businesses.

Promote 2019 is organised at a time when the Central African subregion is suffering some economic setbacks.

Organisers say the fair goes a long way to showcase what the CEMAC economy can benefit from our small and medium sized enterprises.

The UN Country Representative, Maria Allegra Del Pilar Baiocchi said Cameroon needs to build a conducive environment for businesses to grow.

She added that women have an important role to play in this growth as Cameroon joins the United Nations to attain the Sustainable Development Goals.

The Minister of Trade on his part encouraged the exhibitors especially international firms for trusting to do business in Cameroon.

He also suggested that modernising agricultural methods will improve on the business atmosphere in Cameroon as agriculture still stands as the backbone of the economy of Cameroon.

The Prime Minister, Chief Dr. Joseph Dion Ngute on his part welcomed all participating companies and institutes to Yaoundé for one of the biggest trade fairs in Africa.

He gave reasons why investors should choose Cameroon to do business and wished the trade fair unfolds hitch free.
