The Chief Executive officer of the multinational company, Barry Callebout, specialised in the manufacture of food and beverage has been received in audience by the President of the Republic Paul Biya.
Antoine de Saint-Affrique was accompanied to the audience by the Swiss Ambassador to Cameroon, Pietro Lazzeri.
During the more than one hour audience the CEO of Barry Callebaut discussed his company’s intensions to expend his company’s investments in Cameroon.
The 55 years old business magnet who was appointed CEO in 2015, said Cameroon is one of the highest cocoa producers and the sector is doing. He said his company will help farmer improve quality production through vocational training.
He said his company will train young Cameroonians who will be recruited upon graduation to work in the group.
He saluted the contribution of his group in the transformation of Cameroonian cocoa through SIC Cacao, which is the large cocoa processing plant in central Africa.
He said his company his highly committed to Africa and Cameroon where they have been present for over 70 years in the chocolate sector.
In the meantime, relations between Bern and Yaoundé came under review during the audience.
President Paul Biya and the Swiss Ambassador discussed on the situation in the North West and south West regions of Cameroon and Swiss contribution to a peaceful solution.
He said Switzerland is a pragmatic, humble but decided and determined state, “so, we offer our contribution to the Cameroonian people”.
The audience at the state house ended with an exchange of gifts between the Swiss business man and the President of the Republic.
