Youth Empowerment: 2000 Youths of Ocean Division resolve to chat a new course of development

Over 2000 young Cameroonians from diverse backgrounds in the ocean division are attending the first ever youth conference in the resort town of kribi.

The conference is aimed at orienting youths on how best to develop their skills and to find gainful employment in a competitive job market.

Holding under the distinguished patronage of the President of the republic Paul Biya, the two day conference has as theme “Youths, let’s be masters of our destiny in every sector.”

The conference started on 7th May 2019.

The Deputy Director of the Civil Cabinet at the Presidency, Oswald Babuke represented the President of the Republic.

Mr Babuke used the forum to underscore the importance president Paul Biya attaches to the youths and assured them of his constant support.

Oswald Babuke even quoted President Paul Biya in one of his statements by saying, “Cameroon will build with the youths, for the youths and by the youths.”

The Minister also challenged the youths of the Ocean Division to take advantage of the opportunity at their disposal and make responsible choices as major contributions to nation building and development catalysts.

The youth conference is the initiative of an elite senator Gregoire Mba Mba of the CPDM party.

Partner institutions like PIASSI, the kribi port authority, Hevecam and some financial institutions are contributing to the success of the conference.

The seaside resort is a touristic destination par-excellence with its exotic touristic sites and very hospital enterprising population.

Kribi is also noted for its rich touristic potential which is fast becoming an attraction for the country.

The completion of the first phase of the Kribi Deep Seaport makes it an ideal town for youth empowerment.
