Insecurity: Social Democratic Front Chairman Ni John Fru Ndi Abducted
Jean Robert Wafo, Minister of Information and Media of the SDF shadow cabinet confirmed what appeared to be rumours that spread this evening of Friday 28th June 2019.
The National Chairman of the Social Democratic Front, John Fru Ndi had been kidnapped at his Ntarikon residence in Bamenda.
He was whisked-off by gun men at about 3:30pm after his bodyguard was shot at close range.
In a release, the SDF shadow Cabinet Minister gave an eye witness account of the incident.
He said, the SDF Chairman was seized when he came out of his house at the sound of gunshots.
The Governor of the North West region, Adolphe Lele Lafrique immediately convened a crisis meeting.
He assured the population that investigations and search for the missing SDF leader is ongoing.
John Fru Ndi, it is worth recalling, was first kidnapped by a group he identified as “Amba Boys” and kept for six hours on his way to Kumbo for the burial of late Honourable Joseph Banadzem.
The incident has been reported barely hours after the Archbishop of Bamenda was also kidnapped and released.
