Results Of A Study Carried On Forestry Management Restituted

The results presented on November 29, 2019, were carried out by the Forest and Environment Programme
PROPFE, for the implementation of a development strategy, so as to ameliorate forestry governance, management and valorization of natural resources and ecosystems in Cameroon.

For the past 4 years, the Giz forest and environment programme almost at the end of its afforestation mission in Cameroon have piloted several community based projects in targeted regions.

Their afforestation techniques helped scale forest and land scape restoration in regions such as the North and Far North Regions, threatened by soil degradation and desertification.

Thanks to this Forest and environment programme, a good number of women working in common initiative groups have received technical and organisational advice aiming at improving women’s economic opportunities without destroying the environment.

The five regions targeted were the Centre, East, North, Far north, Northwest and Southwest and the focus of the project was the amelioration of decentralized forestry management, management and valorization of sustainable natural resources and ecosystems, as well as the building of institutional capacities.
