The Ministry of Defence has evaluated the strategies and actions of the defense, security and penitentiary forces to stop the spread of the Corona virus within their respective services and implement government measures against the pandemic.
During the evaluation meeting it was indicated that much has been done but that the forces have to be ready psychologically and materially for the worse case scenario. The meeting took place late this Thursday, at the Ministry of Defence and was chaired by the Minister Delegate at the Presidency in charge of Defence, Joseph Beti Assomo.
The intervention strategic evaluation and communication meeting came on the heels of the March 26 cabinet meeting in which the Prime Minister – Head of Government called the defence and security forces to task to play their role of protecting themselves and the civilians as it has happened in countries that are winning the war against the virus.
The Gendarmerie, Police, External Research and Penitentiary Administrations outlined their capabilities and needs to overpower the pandemic concluding that it is necessary to prepare for the worse case scenario by getting the required training and material preparations.
