Prof. Jean Emmanuel Pondi Has A New Book To His Credit.

The book titled ” Relations Internationales: L’apport De Cheikh Anta Diop” was launched on Wednesday April 29, 2020 , at the African Institute of Computer Sciences in Yaounde, and was broadcast Live on his Facebook page and his YouTube Channel during the launch.

In the 197 pages book launched online due to COVID-19, Prof. Jean-Emmanuel Pondi maintains that, the famous African Scientist Cheikh Anta Diop anticipated the direction of the evolution of the international system, more than 40 years before the present system.
Prof. Jean-Emmanuel Pondi, Specialist in Political Sciences and International Relations, has just lifted the veil on an aspect less known of the Multidisciplinary Talent of the late Senegalese Scientist Cheikh Anta Diop .
This Eminent Pan-Africanist is presented more, as an Egyptologist, Historian, Philosopher, Anthropologist and African scientist. Indeed, in the work entitled: “Cheikh Anta Diop In The Sphere of International relations”, published by Afric’Eveil editions in Yaounde in 2020, Jean-Emmanuel Pondi focus on this Pan-Africanist who was also a “theoretician of international relations” and “one of the very first African thinkers of contemporary international relations in 1948.

The author of the 197-pages book, well documented throughout its six chapters, supports his point in Chapter Three, which highlights the major contributions of Cheikh Anta Diop on the field of International Relations. In this regard, he points the fact that, majority of observers and analysts of his innovative work on Egyptology knew little about namely, “his sharp, deep and relevant reflection on the central questions of international relations which challenged young Africans of his time and his generation. This include questions of borders, the problem of the choice and appropriate use of Trans-African languages ​​to accelerate continental integration and the need for theoretical, practical and programmatic reflection on the industrialization of Africa.

Two flagship works of the great Thinker are recalled at this level: “The economic and cultural foundations of a federal state in black Africa” ​​(first edition in 1960), and “The cultural unity of black Africa” ​​(1960).
Meantime, Chapter 6, on its part, reproduces the thought of Cheikh Anta Diop put to test on the evolution of international relations in the 21st Century.
Professor Jean Emmanuel Pondi is the new Vice Rector of the University of Yaounde II, in Charge of Studies and has authored many other books.
