Promoting ICT Projects: MINPOSTEL Announces Upcoming Competition
Cameroonians with the best ICT project of the year will be recognised and awarded at the Second Edition of the ICT Innovation Week to run from 24th to 28th August 2020.
This year’s edition of the ICT Innovation Week focuses on the theme, “Young Cameroonians amidst the challenges of ICT Innovation in a context of health crisis”.
About the ICT Innovation Week
The ICT Innovation Week is brainchild of the Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications (MINPOSTEL).
Its major objective is to boost the development of ICT-driven business projects initiated by youths.
The week also aims at:
– Identifying projects with real market potentials to benefit from support
– Stimulating creativity
– Recording achievements in the computer sector.
– Promoting the spirit of competition among youths
– Providing capacity building
– Showcasing Cameroonian engineering in the digital sector.
National Competition for Best Digital Project
The National Competition for the Best Digital Project of the Year is major highlight of the ICT Innovation Week.
The competition is intended to provide long-term support for the emergence of a mature and sound digital ecosystem.
Participation in National Competition
The National Competition for Best Digital Project is open to all young Cameroonians living within the national territory and holder of an innovative business project which is based on digital technologies.
Registration for the competition runs from midnight of July 28 to August 17, 2020 at 3pm.
The registration is to be done online at www.ictinnovationweek.cm and an internal committee from MIMPOSTEL will shortlist 15 best projects to be published by August 20, 2020.
After a couple of other procedures, the selected projects will be pitched to a jury on August 27, 2020.
The prize award ceremony including the special prize of the President of the Republic will take place on August 28, 2020.
