The Prime Minister and Head of Government, Joseph Dion Ngute recently held talks with Célestin Tawamba, head of the Inter Employer’s Union of Cameroon, (GICAM).
During their discussions, they examined the effects of the country’s current tax policy on the business community within a context marked by the Novel Corona Virus.
The meeting was attended via video conference by some members of government including the Minister of Finance, the Minister of the Economy, Planning and Regional Development and the Minister of Trade.
The meeting between the GICAM boss and the Head of Government came amidst growing complaints from the business class about the difficulties encountered due to the current taxation policy.
According to the GICAM boss, 96.6% of enterprises in Cameroon have been affected by the negative effects of COVID19 global health crisis.
