Tabaski Feast Modifies Examination Timetable
The Minister of Secondary Education Prof. Nalova Lyonga in a press release signed on July 22, 2020, informed candidates and the entire educational Community of a possible change in the examination program if the Feast of Eid al-Kebir falls on a writing day.
The Feast of Ramadan will be celebrated on July 31, 2020, the National Commission of the Lunar Crescent made it public in a press release.
This will therefore affect the examination timetable since candidates sitting in for the G.C.E , B.E.PC, Probatoire, Baccalaureat, CAP STT among others will still be writing their exams.
To this effect the Minister of Secondary Education wrote a note earlier to inform candidates and examiners that if the Feast of Ramadan falls the day the exams are supposed to be written, it would be postponed the next day Saturday August 1, 2020, same time.
Eid Al-Kebir also known as the feast of sacrifice is a religious feast celebrated by Muslim Faithful.
The day honors prophet Abraham’s willingness to sacrafice his first son as an act of submission to God until God intervened and asked him to sacrafice a ram instead.
