Muslim Faithfuls in Yaoundé have joined their brethren worldwide to commemorated the feast of the sacrifice, the Eid al-Adha this Friday July 31, 2020.
They converged at the Yaoundé Central Mosque where the Great Imam Mahaman Saminou led them in prayers.
In an eleven minutes long sermon, the iman edified the Muslim Faithful to always look up to Allah as their only source of hope.
He called on those on the prayer ground to be exemplary and follow the examples of the righteous men in the Holy Qur’an.
The Imam made it clear that the security situation in the country is not the best so far.
He asked the faithful to be law abiding citizens and collaborate with the authorities in place to create a safe environment for everyone.
Considering the nature of the celebrations, Imam Mahaman advised the faithful to respect physical distancing barrier measures.
He insisted on no handshakes and called on the faithful to celebrate in their homes and not visit other relatives and friends.
Imam Mahaman Saminou performed the sacrifice ritual by slaughtering a ram in thanksgiving.
He called on Muslim Faithful who can to do same and share with the less privilege.
The Divisional Officer for Yaoundé I, Mahmadi Mahamad who joined the celebration, appreciated the conduct under which the prayers unfolded.
