Social Media: “Meet the First” Challenge Trending
Social media is at it again with several posts going viral with the phrase, “Meet the first” or the hashtag #MeetTheFirst.

On August 22, 2020 many Twitter users especially Nigerians began posting old black and white pictures with funny captions circulating around the idea, “Meet the first”.

It is worth mentioning that the pictures are usually in no way related to the description attached to them. They are more of random pictures selected and given a new description.

After Nigerians, Ghanaians seemed to take the relay baton.
From Ghana, the wind caught up with Ugandans, Rwandans and even Cameroonians.
Cameroonians Flood WhatsApp and Facebook with “Meet the First” Pictures
Just like most trending things on social media, Cameroonians are posting on their WhatsApp status and Facebook timelines, images of the “meet the first” challenge.
The pictures began circulating on social media in the morning of Monday August 24, 2020 but little did many know that it was yet another challenge to soon go viral!
By Monday evening, the pictures had gone viral and many had edited them and added others so that they sound Cameroonian especially the names being used.
This Tuesday, August 25, 2020, the challenge is still on and the fun keeps spreading, contaminating more people.
