SAGO 2020 : Government advances drive to upgrade public services
The government of Cameroon, private organizations and the public are jointly seeking ways to improve the quality of public services offered by the government.
Discussions are taking place at the 9th edition of the Fair on Government Action, dubbed SAGO, which kicked-off in Yaoundé this September 22.
The theme for the 9th edition of SAGO is ” Improving the services provided to users of public services in Cameroon”.
Cameroon’s Minister of Communication, Rene Emmanuel Sadi , chaired the opening ceremony, massively attended by government and other stakeholders, among them, Crtv’s Director General, Charles Ndongo.
In the course of conferences and workshops on schedule, the government hopes to get nuggets to upgrade public services. Public users are also expected to bring in valuable contributions that will meet their needs.
What is SAGO ?
SAGO is a fair organized yearly to showcase government activities in different sectors.
It is a communication platform aimed at facilitating access to information on Government action, popularizing national public policies and ultimately bridging the gap between the public and the government.
On the first day of the fair, an inaugural conference, chaired by the Minister of Transport, Jean Ernest Ngalle Bibehe foucused on the theme, ” Structural Rehabilitation and Prospects to Modernizing the Transport and Metrology Sector”.
The Minister said the transport sector is on its way to modernization .But for this to happen, all actors must contribute to facilitating transport reforms.
Unlike previous editions, SAGO 2020 is holding amidst the COVID-19 pandemic. The transport Minister reminded all stakeholders at the fair to join the government in fighting the pandemic. Everyone must continue to wear masks and respect preventive measures.
