2020 CHAN: Knowing Group D

Tanzania, Namibia, Zambia and Guinea make up the Group D of the 6th edition of the 16-nation CHAN football tournament to be organised by Cameroon as from Saturday, January 16 to February 7, 2021 in the cities of Yaounde, Douala and Limbe-Buea.

The Group games here will be field at the Limbe Omnisports Stadium situated in Ngueme while training sessions will be exercised in Limbe and Buea.

The group according to our CRTVweb online survey strategy has been ranked a seemingly less challenging group of the competition

The Syli Nationale of Guinea

Guinea still awaited in Cameroon for the football jamboree will be participating at the CHAN this time around for the third time out of the sixth editions

The best ever participation of the Guinean team was in Rwanda in 2016 during their debut appearance when they finished at the fourth position.

In Morocco in 2018, Guinea was eliminated at the Group stage of the competition.

Guinea booked a ticket for Cameroon after defeating Senegal 3-1 in penalty.

The Syli Nationale opens her CHAN journey with Namibia on January 19, 2021 before facing off Zambia and Tanzania.

Namibia

Namibia participated at the 2018 CHAN in Morocco for the first time, their participation in Cameroon marks her second appearance in the CHAN.

Namibia won Madagascar on 2-1 aggregate to sail through to Cameroon for the 16-nation football bonanza.

 

The Southern African state will face-off Guinea in their day-1 action before their normal schedule between Tanzania and Zambia.

Tanzania

First time Tanzania participated at the CHAN was in 2009, the first edition of the special football tournament aimed at celebrating local and home based players.

During the debut appearance, Tanzania clamped down Sudan 5-2 aggregate to participate in the CHAN final, though they were eliminated at the group stage

Tanzania opens their CHAN 2020 campaign against Zambia on January 19 before going ahead to face Namibia and Guinea.

Zambia

The Chipolopolos of Zambia proved a favourite after registering a seemingly impressive show during the four nation pre-CHAN tournament in Cameroon.

Zambia played a stalemate with the Mena A’
Of Niger, lost tp Uganda in their second outing and humbled host , Cameroon 2-0 in their last game.

The one time champions of the CHAN exited the 2018 CHAN in Morocco at the quarterfinals

Zambia will pick on Tanzania in their first game of the competition in the city of Limbe.

Their head coach, Milutin Micho Sredojevic made public a list of 31 players for the 2020 CHAN in Cameroon
