Sasse College Buea: Fire Ravages Dormitory
The St Martins Dormitory, one of the dormitories of the St Joseph’s College, Sasse in Buea has been partially consumed by fire.
The fire broke out on Wednesday, January 6, 2021 at about 9:30am.
Thankfully, students were in class so no loss of life or injuries were recorded.
However, some material damage was registered before the school administration, SONARA workers, the military and other goodwill people came in to contain the fire.
The Principal of the school, Rev Father Armstrong Ndi has called on Parents to remain calm since all is under control.
He adds that the students of St Martins have been relocated to other dormitories.
The school administrator explains that a preliminary assessment points at an electrical fault as cause of the fire.
It is worth noting that this is not the first time that a fire is breaking out within a school campus.
It is the hope of many that school administrations pay close attention to electrical connections and fix any broken circuits.
