Prime Minister – Head of Government, Joseph Dion Ngute and some government have been administered the second dose of the anti COVID vaccines.
The vaccination exercise took place this Wednesday May 12, 2021 at the auditorium of The PM’s office during the special voluntary vaccination against COVID 19 organised for members of government and members of the diplomatic corps.
The operation that started three weeks ago, continued with the administration of the second dozes of vaccines to those who had taken the first days some 21 days ago.
Scores of members of government who received the first dose of the vaccine last month showed up at auditorium of the PM’S office to complete the vaccination process.
Just like during the start of the special voluntary vaccination exercise for members of government last month, Prime Minister Joseph Dion Ngute was the first of all those present to receive the second dose of the COVID19 vaccine this Wednesday.
One of the four teams dispatched by the Ministry of Public Health to the auditorium of the PM’s office, administered the vaccine and stamped the Prime Minister’s vaccination card attesting that he has completed his vaccination process against COVID19.
The four different vaccination teams attended to the different members of government until everyone present had received their second dose.
The different vaccines currently being used in Cameroonians were available during the vaccination exercise: Sputnic 5, Sinopharm and Astrazeneca.
The Minister of Public Health Manaouda Malachie who supervised the vaccination exercise said some 45 thousand doses of COVID 19 vaccine have been administered in Cameroon with vaccines being available in different health districts.
The health minister said the epidemiological situation of the COVID19 appears to have stabilized over the past weeks but called for vigilance and the continuous respect of barrier measures.
