Cameroon International Cycling Tour: French man, Leonien Alexandre takes over yellow jersey
Leonien Alexandre, rider for the French club Martigues Sport Cyclisme isnow the bearer of the yellow jersey after the Day 4 general classification of the on going 17th edition of the Cameroon International Cycling Tour.

Although he has not won any lap, after Day 4 he is ranked first on the General Classification table with a total race time of 11h53m40s.
Leonien Alexandre has also consistently retained the white jersey for best young cyclists in the tour following his standings on the general classification. The young French man was quite emotional after the announcement of his success. He broke into tears and expressed how proud he felt winning the lap.

“It’s overwhelming for me, but the race is never over until one crosses the finish line. I’m going to keep working hard until the finish line in Yaoundé.”
This puts him ahead of the Bulgarian rider Andreev Yordan who shares the same cumulative time with Cameroon’s Clovis Kamzong Abossolo of the SNH Velo Club ranked third place on the general classification table with a total race time of 11h53m42s.
Andreev Yordan, the previous bearer of the yellow jersey since Day 1 came in at the twenty one position in the Loum-Limbe 129.9km lap.
The wounded Bulgarian from Day 3 race says he will need to put in more effort in order to take the lead again, considering how competitive the race so far is.

Clovis Kamzong Abossolo is also classified as best rider for team Cameroon, he is just two seconds away from the yellow jersey.
Burkina Faso’s Paul Doumont again retained the CRTV sponsored green jersey for best athlete in the competition. He is 19th position on the General Classification with a total race time 12h2m30s.

Daumont is 8m50s away from the yellow jersey.
The Burkina Faso national was considered a major thread in the race but poor performance on Day 1 has set his position downwards. He was however happy about the Loum-Limbe race course.
“It wasn’t an easy race but generally it has been okay. Today’s race in particular was a beautiful one, there was quite a lot of beautiful scenery and landscapes to view while sprinting and climbing. This is a very beautiful part of Cameroon,” the sportsman said. “I will have to work really hard to move up the general classification.” Paul Daumont concluded.
Once again the Bulgarians top the Day 4 of the competition.

Bulgaria’s Ivanov Borislav won the 4th lap, covering the Loum-Limbe, 129.9km in 03h22m13s.
