The fight against criminality as Cameroon prepares to host the Africa Cup of Nations tournament is one of Cameroon’s main priorities.
The information was disclosed during the first bi-annual conference of Regional Governors for 2021 holding in Yaounde.
The Minister of Territorial Administration, Paul Atanga Nji who is chairing the session instructed Regional Governors instructed to vigorous fight against criminality, order disorder and the phenomenon of abandoned projects.
The conference which comes at a time when Cameroon is preparing to host the Africa Cup of Nations tournament, also saw calls on Governors to ensure the success of the event in their respective areas of command.
The Minister of Territorial Administration, Paul Atanga Nji while opening the first bi-annual conference of Regional Governors also reminded to intensive the fight against the spread of the corona virus by encouraging voluntary vaccination and implementing preventive measures prescribed by the Head of State.
The two day conference is holding under the theme, “decentralisation and public order”.
Territorial Administration Minister, Paul Atanga Nji told the press that information contained in the reports sent by Regional Governors indicates that the security situation in all the regions is under control.
The Governors of the North West, Adolphe Lele Lafrique; South West, Bernard Okalia Bilai; East, Gregoire Mvongo and Far North Midjiyawa Bakary were all upbeat of the gradual return to normalcy in parts of the regions that were affected by security threats.
The opening session was attended by the Delegate General for National Security, Martin Mbarga Nguele and the Secretary of State in the Ministry of Defence in charge of the National Gendarmerie, Galax Etoga
The during in camera discussions each of the Governors will make a presentation on the socio-political and economic situation of their respective Regions.
They will also listen to exposes by the Delegate General for National Security and the Secretary of State in the Ministry of Defence in charge of the National Gendarmerie.
