Sports and physical education activities for holiday makers between ages of 2 and 18 years have been launched this Friday, July 18 at the Mfandena 1000-seater Multi-sports Gymnasium by the Minister of Sports and Physical Education, Narcisse Mouelle Kombi
The holiday sports and leisure is a well appreciated initiative of the various sports sectors in the ministry and will be coordinated by the staff of the Multi-sports Gymnasium for a period of seven weeks.
The holiday sports has a total of fifteen sporting disciplines on schedule. Some of the group sports are table tennis, judo, basketball, handball, bow and arrow, hockey amongst many others.
The Minister of Sports watched some of the kids show their talents in the sporting disciplines of the their choice at the high profile launching ceremony. A great show of talent was highlighted in table tennis, hockey, basketball, traditional and modern dances amongst many other sports.
The Minister saluted the initiative and cautioned the instructors to be of good example to the young sports lover during this period of holidays. Minister Narcisse Mouelle Kombi insisted that the platform should be used as an educative leeway.
The sports boss added that this is a way help young Cameroonians get involve in healthy and educative holidays, exploit talents and valorize, and promote sports in Cameroon.
Just to note that the holiday sports and leisure is a midway for the ministry through the physical education and sporting instructors to scout talents, groom and nurture them in the very near future.
The Minister was accompanied by the Centre Regional Governor, Nasri Paul Bea and top officials in the sports sector at the launch of the holiday sports and leisure activities.
