#Afrobasketwomen2021: Cameroon Beats Kenya at Opener
The host country of the 2021 Women’s AfroBasket tournament, Cameroon is off to a good start after winning their first group game.
The Indomitable Lionesses dominated all four quarters of the game, defeating Kenya with an overall 74 – 50 points.
Cameroon is among the winners of the first group games played on Day 1 of the competition.
Four games were played on September 17 at the Multipurpose Sports Complex in Yaounde, capital of Cameroon.
Eleven times champion , Senegal, Mali and Nigeria also started the tournament with a win.
Twelve countries are participating in the tournament. They are constituted in four groups.

The 27th Women’s AfroBasket tournament was officially opened by Cameroon’s Minister of Sports and Physical Education, Prof. Narcisse Mouelle Kombi.
Anibal Aurelio Manave, President of the Basketball Federation (FIBA) Africa, was also present at the opening ceremony.
