ELECAM: 182913 persons effectively enrolled in 2021
National statistics on voter registration for the year 2021 has been made public by the Director General of Elections at ELECAM, Dr Eric Essousse.
During a press at the Elections Cameroon headquarters in Yaounde, he revealed that 167,836 more citizens were enrolled in 2021 compared to 2020 representing an increase of 91.76%.
The statistic were revealed a day after the close of electoral registers for the year within the country and in diplomatic representations abroad on August 31, 2021.

The Director General of Elections, Erick Essousse said the increase in the turnout for registration is thanks to the easing of COVID19 stranglehold.
Besides the registration of voters from January 1 to August 31, as stipulated by the Electoral Code, the year has been marked by distribution of voter cards.
He also invited electors yet to collect their cards to go and do so at council branches of Elections Cameroon.
