The host of the 33rd edition of the Africa Cup of Nations, Cameroon will sign framework agreement binding her and the Confederations of African Football, CAF for the organisation of the 2021 AFCON to be played in January 2022.
The binding agreement that secures host rights of the organizing country is generally signed between CAF and the football federation of the country in question.
The very important document according to a communique signed by the Minister of Sports, President of the Local Organizing Committee of the AFCON dubbed COCAN will be sealed this Friday, October 22, 2021 at the Yaounde Multipurpose Sports Complex at 10:30 am Cameroonian time
Accordingly, the framework agreement is a legal document that bares the working handbook of CAF to be used by the host country.
The document states clearly the rights and obligations of the two parties; that is, Cameroon and the African football powerhouse, CAF.
The signing comes three months to the kick off of the biggest football midpoint in the continent meaning that CAF has found Cameroon eligible and ready to host the bonanza.
As at now, the Interim President of Cameroon’s Football Federation, Seidou Mbombo Njoya and the Secretary General of CAF, Veron Mesongo Omba will surely be the signatories to this capital document in the organization of the 2021 AFCON.
Note be taken that Cameroon will host the pioneer edition of the 24-nation AFCON edition to be organised in the towns of Yaounde, Douala, Garoua, Bafoussam, Buea and Limbe from January 9 to February 6, 2022.
