FECAFOOT Elections: Eight Candidates in the race for the top job

The countdown is narrow, the expectations are high as football lovers and Cameroonians home and abroad anxiously await a new leadership to steer clear issues at the helm of the Cameroon Football Federation, FECAFOOT. Eight aspirants have deposited their files amongst them former football players, football actors and others.

On Thursday, November 18, 2021 at exactly 6pm, the technical secretariat at FECAFOOT closed its doors in respect of the deadline issued by the Electoral Commission.

First to submit files for the prestigious job at the Cameroon Football Federation was a University lecturer with the University of Lyon in France, Dr Jean Crepin Nyamsi

At the end eight files were received; Boyomo Maneul, Zacherie Wandja, Justine Tagouh, Jean Crepin Nyamsi, three former indomitable lions; Jules Denis Onana, Maboang Kessack and Samuel Eto’o Fils, and Interim FECAFOOT Presisent, Seidou Mbombo Njoya.

Every potential candidate came with a juicy project mostly centered around revamping the management of football, creating win-win businesses with investors, bring partners to the football sector and strengthening local football in the country.

Infact, three potential candidates; Seidou Mbombo Njoya , Jules Denis Onana and Samuel Eto’o Fils have met up with the requirements of the electoral commission at FECAFOOT

Accordingly, the other five aspirants did not have either endorsements or lacked sufficient endorsements amongst other requirements. They have been given few days to complete their files and set the work rolling for the electoral commission.

The electoral commission at FECAFOOT will sit on Wednesday, November 24, 2021 and at the end of their deliberations, a final list will surely be published.

As at now, 76 voters will cast their ballots for a change, sixty of these voters are from the ten regions; that is six delegates per region and the rest independent representatives

The highly awaited election at the helm of the football federation will be carried out on December 11, 2021 and the new executives will run the affairs of FECAFOOT for a mandate of four years
