The 2021 host and Vice Champions of the African Women’s Handball Championship, the Handball Indomitable Lionesses of Cameroon will pick on the Russian Handball Federation this Friday, December 3, 2021 at 6 pm local time in the first group clash at the ongoing 25th World Women’s Championship in Spain.
Cameroon arrived Spain on Wednesday December 1 after weeks of training in the capital city of Yaounde. The handball ladies are paired alongside Russia, Serbia and Poland in Group D of the competition.
Emerging as of the four best teams at the 2021 CAHB in Yaounde, Cameroon is representing Africa alongside Tunisia, Angola and Congo at the 32-nation affair group teams from five confederations in the World.
A total of 8 games will be fielded in at the court in four host cities this Friday, December 3 with the first eight teams amongst which is Cameroon to be played at 6pm and the others at 8:30 pm.
Tunisia and Congo come into the arena on Saturday, December 4 while the African Champions, Angola will come up later.
Cameroon is participating at the World Championship for the third time, the first was in 2005 in Russia and twelves years later in Germany. Unfortunately the ladies were shown the exit door just the group stages of the competitions
The Netherlands come to Spain as the 2019 Champions of the prestigious tournament.
The World Women’s Handball Championship kicked off on Wednesday December 1 and will run till December 19. This years’ edition is the first to host 32 nations rather than the 24 teams as before.
