#TotalEnergies AFCON: Group F sets into Day-2 with a thrilling schedule

The 2021 Africa Cup of Nations enters day- actions in Group F with with mouth-watering schedules between the little known scorpions of The Gambia and the Eagles of Mali to be fielded at 2 pm local time while Tunisia will throw weights with the Murabituns of Mauritania at 5 pm at the Limbe Omnisport Stadium this Sunday, January 16, 2022.


The first contenders, Mali and The Gambia grabbed three points each on day-1 matches of the Group. Mali humbled Tunisia at the 48th minute of play through a goal from Ibrahim Kone while Ablie Jallow of Gambia opened scores at the 10th minute to give his side a win over Mauritania

Since Mali and Gambia will be facing off in the first match of the day, many say it will be a clash worth watching as both will hustle to stamp their superiority in the Group and fight to seal a deal at the round of 16 of the AFCON

This will be the 19th meeting between the two teams, but the Eagles of Mali is the best bet with eight wins to their credits

The Scorpions of Gambia counts six wins while four of the clashes ended in a stalemate for both sides.

The most recent confrontation between the two was at the 2019 AFCON qualifiers when Mali progressed by an aggregate of 4-0.

At 5pm local time, the Al- Murabitun of Mauritania will throw weights with the Carthage Eagles of Tunisia. Both teams lost their first matches to the Scorpions of The Gambia and Eagles of Mali respectively.

Their confrontations this Sunday, January 16, 2022 will be another avenue for the two to redeem their situation as they journey to the last round of 16 of the biggest continental football jamboree.

In terms of meetings, Tunisia has played against Mauritania 7 times , winning four times and drawing in the other three encounters.

Mauritania has never defeated Tunisia, they rather registered three draws in their seven clashes and fell off the hands of Tunisia in four other games.
