National Day 2022: General Agha Robinson Ndong Commands the Military Parade

The climax of the 50th edition of the feast of National Unity will be a grand Military parade and civilian match past presided over by the President of the Republic at the May 20th Boulevard in Yaounde.

The event to last 90 minutes will be in two phases; the military parade and the civilian match past.

The first phase of the will be marked by military honours to the President of the Republic, Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces and the military parade comprising all the components of the armed forces.

According to the programme, the military parade will be commanded by the Commander of the 3rd Joint Military Region, with Headquarters in Garoua.

During the general rehearsals this Wednesday May 18, 2022, the Brigadier General gave a foretaste of how the parade will look like.

He set the tone for the parade, with a thundering voice that call all troops to get in line for the parade.

The exercise saw foot troops, motorised and air forces taking turns in front of the top military officials, the Minister Delegate at the Presidency in charge of defence and some Representatives of the Presidency.

At the end of parade, the Brigadier General will presented give a military salute to the Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces.

The rehearsals ended with fine-tuning and recommendations were made ahead of the D-day given by the Chief of Defence Staff, Lieutenant General Rene Claude Meke to the troops.

Profile of General Agha Robinson

The native of Wum in Menchum Division of the North West Region of Cameroon was appointed as Brigadier General by the President June 29, 2017.

He was made Pioneer Commander of the newly created 5th Joint Military Region that covers the West and North West Regions with Headquarters in Bamenda.
He played an active role in containing the crisis in the North West and South West regions preventing it from escalating and making several separatist fighters to lay down their arms.

He was later transferred to head the 3rd Combined Military Region that covers the North and the Adamawa regions with headquarters in Garoua.
