Cameroon International Cycling Tour: Rwanda’s Mugisha Wins 18th Edition

Rwanda’s Moise Mugisha is winner of the 18th edition of the Cameroon International Cycling Tour. Mugisha takes home the coveted yellow jersey with the best finish time of the competition.

Earlier in the competition, Mugisha the Rwandan had build up strategy not necessarily to win a lap but gunning for the prestigious yellow jersey.

It was only in the 7th lap of the race that this dream was realized for the Rwandan cyclist and he made sure he secured the victory in the last lap of the competition.

Moise Mugisha is not a stranger to the Cameroon International Cycling Tour as he has had numerous participations over the years.

Bulgarian athlete riding for the Club Martigues Cyclisme, Andreev Yordan came second on the General Classification.

Artuce Tella of the SNH Vello Club

Artuce Tella of the SNH Vello Club was Cameroon’s closest hope to the Yellow Jersey.

The winner of the first lap of the competition came in third in the general standings at the end of the tour.

The lack of strategy on the Cameroonian side made them lose prestigious awards in this year’s competition.

Artuce Tella was awarded the blue jersey for best Cameroonian on the General Classification.

Last years winner Clovis Kamzong Abessolo was no where near the yellow jersey this time.

The former champion finished sixteenth position, six minutes seven seconds behind the yellow jersey.

His performance only started improving in the last three laps of the race following a poor start from the defending champion.
