ELECAM as at today records a total of 237.931 new enrolments as at against 64.949 at the same period last year.
This figure represents a progression rate of 26%, hence bringing up the number of voters on the electoral registers to a total of 7.197, 779 of which 3.353 760 are women.
The information was disclosed by the board Chair person of Elections Cameroon, Dr Enow Abrams Egbe during the second ordinary session of the Electoral board for the year 2022.
He however indicated the figures have been released pending the clean up exercise of the electoral registers.
The session was mainly devoted to a midterm evaluation of the objectives achieved in the action plan for the year 2022.
The meeting also examined and adopted the report of the first ordinary session of the electoral Board that held on March 23, 2022.
The director General of Elections, Dr Erik Essousse also presented his quarterly report to the board.
The board also examined and adopted the terms of reference for a field trip to be carried out by members of the Electoral Board of ELECAM from August 16 to 31, 2022.
The session also paid tribute to their member who passed away recently.
