2022 Guinness Super League: AS Awa FC wins again
AS Awa Filles of Yaounde has defeated ace rival Amazone Fap FC 3-2 to retain the title of the Cameroon Women’s Football Champion for 2021/2022 season though with three matches left to play. The winners of the Guinness Super League grabbed the trophy in the last game of the championship fielded at the Annex 1 of the Ahmadou Ahidjo Stadium this Sunday, August 15, 2022

Farida Machia opened scores as early as the 6th minute to help her side Awa FC take the lead though the opponent set in at the 19th minute with a equalizer from Bongben Confidence. Just three minutes later, Raissa Ebenye Ebongue turned the tables around for AS Awa girls and left the scores at 2-1.
Brenda Tabe who ended the Women’s Military World Cup as the tip scorer could not be indifferent, the goal hunter netted eight minutes into the second half of play but then, Wanki Rita was daring enough to upset the score board at the 83rd minute of play with a goal for Amazone Fap girls.
The score was indeed not the best bet for the Amazone girls who struggled soo hard during the last seven minutes of play to level scores to no avail.
The victory is just one of the many wins for the champions of the Guinness Super League. In a total of twenty-two games, Awa FC counts nineteen wins a tie and a defeat. The defending Champions counts fifty-eight points out of the fourteen ahead of Amazone Fap.
The reigning champs of the Guinness Super League wrapped up the 2020/2021 football season with fifty-six points just tow down from this season and with a total of sixty-seven goals scored last season
AS Awa FC ends this season with the best attack, best defense and the league’s top scorer in the person of Lamine Mana with nineteen goals to win the league’s golden boot.
There is a new queen with the crown in the Guinness Super, AS Awa has gradually and steadily put an end to the long time dominance by Louves Minproff and Amazone Fap in the Cameroon Women’s top tier football.

Second placed, Amazone Fap goes home with FCFA 15.000 000 and the third best, Eclair of Sa’a rides home with FCFA 10 5000 00.
