Cameroon has engaged in a process of issuing electronic visas. The procedure for online registration, processing and issuance of the more secured document that allows entry into the country was presented to the press at the Ministry of External Relations.
During the ceremony chaired by the Head of Protocol at the Ministry of External Relations, Taribo Ashu, procedure for the production of secured consular and diplomatic documents were also presented.
The equipment for this digital shift was presented at the ministry of External Relations on July 27 20200 following the signing of a Partnership Contract between the Republic of Cameroon and the Impact Palmarès R & D SAS Company, relating to the financing, design and implementation of the securing and standardization of consular services of the Cameroon.
The presentation of the new system of consular services was made to the press by Mr. Giresse Tella, CEO of the Impact Palmarès Company.
As per the contract, the company is expected to followup on;
• The installation of the latest generation equipment in Diplomatic Missions and Consular Posts for the printing of biometric visa stickers;
• The installation of a visa authentication system at all Cameroon entry points at the air, sea and land levels;
• The creation of an online visa application management platform (e-visa);
• The training of personnel dedicated to the use and maintenance of this equipment;
. The construction of a data center for the management and processing of consular information; Production of biometric consular cards and other secure documents.
Our wish is that the official launch of the new system of which we have just declined the main articulations will be effective from June 1, 2022.
The construction of the infrastructure for the issuance of organic visas has been completed in the Yaoundé and Douala international airports while the deployment of all the appropriate equipment for the new system of secure consular services in diplomatic missions, consular posts and international airports of Cameroon will soon be completed.
