Major National Dialogue : Level of Implementation of Recommendations Scrutinised

The socio economic situation in the North West and South West regions is getting better by the day.

The Prime Minister – Head of Government, Joseph Dion Ngute made the statement in Yaounde at the start of the 4th session of the committee to followup the implementation of the recommendations of the Major National Dialogue.

Holding this August 4, 2022 at the auditorium of the Prime Minister’s office, the session had an in depth scrutiny of grounds covered before adopting a plan of action.

The 4th session of the committee to followup the implementation of recommendations of the Major National Dialogue is holding almost 3 years after the major national dialogue take place in Yaounde.

The participants at this session included guests and technical partners joined by the statutory members of the committee; including Presidents of the Regional Councils of the North West and South West regions, the Public Independent Conciliators and experts from the diaspora.

Their discussions centred on:
– Examining the road covered so far in putting in place the recommendations,

– examining possible areas of readjustment

– getting updates on the situation and have field reports from actors.

Prime Minister – Head of government Joseph Dion Ngute officially opened the session He affirmed that the government had been working tiressly since the holding of the Major National Dialogue to implement the recommendations.

He cited the special status, the presidential plan for reconstruction and development of the North West and South West Regions, the recruitment of bilingual teachers, the liberation of prisoners, the creation of the Common Law Bench at the Supreme Court and ENAM as concrete signs that the government is going the full mile to transform the recommendations of the Major National Dialogue to reality.

Joseph Dion Ngute expressed delight that the socio-economic situation in the North West and South West regions keeps improving by the day, describing the return to normalcy as the fruit of all the efforts made.

The Head of Government invited all to put hands on deck and work towards the eradication of secessionist activities inorder to let the North West and South West regions flourish again.

The 4th session of the committee of the committee to followup the implementation of recommendations of the major national dialogue has presented the platform for actors on the ground and technical partners to exchange on the current situation, clear impediments to projects and draw a roadmap to guide the actions of the committee.
