NCC: Sanctions on Media Organs Explained

The President of the National Communication Council has launched an appeal to media men and women to respect and make respect the ethics and deontology of the profession.

Joseph Chebongkeng Kalabubse was speaking in Yaounde during a tête à tête with the media following the recent sanctions slammed on some journalists and media organs that went out of track.

In a firm tone the President of the National Communication Council warned journalists against the disorientation of social media, calling on them to be professionals.

He also frowned at the phenomenon of pompous headlines brandished by accredited media organs, which usually don’t carry corresponding reports.

Journalists who take upon themselves to play the role of judges and critics were also spotlighted and reminded stay on the lane of journalism practice.

The encounter with media organs comes on the heels of the recent decisions of the NCC sanctioning some Media organs who failed to respect the ethics of the profession.
