Cameroon Joins the International Community in Commemorating World Peace Day

The Minister of Youth Affairs and Civic Education, Mounouna Foutsou, this September 21, 2022,  presides over the ceremony of the 41st edition of the International Day of Peace, at the Yaounde Town Hall (Hôtel de Ville.)

The day is celebrated under the theme, “End Racism. Build Peace.”

During the ceremony, training certificates will be presented to the participants of the Ambassadors for Peace training workshops and a call for peace will be made by religious, traditional rulers and youth leaders.

Morden Techniques of Urological Surgery on the Spotlight

The first congress of the Cameroonian Association of Urologists opens at the Mont Febe Hotel in Yaounde today.

According to medical experts, 15 patients suffering from diseases related to urinary tract, prostate cancer and obstetric fistula, have successfully undergone  urological surgery this year in Cameroon.

During the event, specialists in urology from in and out of Cameroon will share experiences on the new techniques of conducting urological surgery.

School Councils: A must in the South Region

Stake holders in the basic education sector in the South region of Cameroon have been given up till September 30, 2022, to revive school councils in all nursery and primary schools in the region.

Speaking during a ceremony yesterday to launch the campaign which seeks to revitalise school councils, the National Pedagogic Inspector at the Ministry of Basic Education, Doctor Edith Mve Ndongo  said, the absence of school councils in some institutions is a hindrance to their smooth functioning.

Sports: A Tool For Promoting Living Together

The Minister of Higher Education, Prof Jacques Fame Ndongo, has described sports as essential ingredient in promoting living together and national solidarity within the university milieu.

The Minister was speaking yesterday in Yaounde as he presided over a seminar to relaunch sporting activities in the higher education sector and the commemoration of the International Day of University Sports.

Macky Sall Addresses Zimbabwe Sanctions

Senegal’s President,  Macky Sall has called for a lifting of sanctions against Zimbabwe in his address to the 77th United Nations General Assembly, in New York.

The Senegalese leader and the current chairman of the African Union says the measures against Zimbabwe were aggravating the suffering of the people.

The United States and the European Union maintain sanctions on Zimbabwe, siting a lack of progress in democratic and human rights reform as well as restrictions in press freedom.
