BEAC Clocks 50: Trajectory in Pictures Unveiled
A photo exhibition has been organised in N’djamena capital of Chad as part of activities to mark the 50th anniversary of the Bank of Central African States, BEAC.
The main services of The Bank were presented to the public at the Radisson Blu Hotel in N’djamena. Visitors were given a guided tour of the Monetary policy, systems and means of payment, money emmissions and exchange regulations.
The exhibition precceeds an international symposium Tuesday November 22 on the theme “the economy of cemac countries amidst monetary and financial reforms”
From 1972 till 2022, the CEMAC zone has had 3 varieties of Bank notes all on exhibition in the presence of the Governor of BEAC, Abbas Mahamat Tolli, former BEAC governors and stakeholders in thé subregion also attended the event.
A Central bank at the service of the people of the CEMAC Zone has a history that dates from 1920 to 1972 prior to the creation of BEAC.
The different range of currencies from 1972 till date is on the spotlight at this photo exhibition.
Over the years, the samples have represented the economies of CEMAC states with specific modifications to guarantee their security from counterfeit.
The pictures of Emblematic leaders of the sub region like Paul Biya, Omar Bongo and André kolingba featured on the bank notes.
with already three ranges of currency in 50 years, the Bank of central African states BEAC intends to release the 4th range next december 15 that will come into effect in 2023.
