Cameroon Medical Council: Election Modalities

The Minister of Public Health, Dr Manaouda Malachie has signed a decision aimed at organising hitch-free elections for the Cameroon Medical Council.

The document signed on November 29, 2022, provides an ad hoc Commission charged with organising the elections during the Council’s Extraordinary Elective General Assembly.

Commission’s Mandate

The Commission is charged with receiving candidacies, examining content of files, accepting candidacies, supervising the general conduct of the elections and carrying out any other assignment given by the Minister of Public Health.

Organisation of Commission

The Commission is headed by the President who is the Minister of Public Health or his Representative.

It also has a Raporteur and seven members.

To ensure a smooth functioning, the Commission has a Technical Secretariat made up of six members.

The Commission will be convened by its President as need arises.

The President also has the right to invite other participants to meetings as Consultants if they are deemed to master the subject of the day.

With all these in place, members of the Cameroon Medical Council hope for a successful unfolding of their elections come December 2022.
