Cameroonian Arts on Display at First Lady’s New Year Wishes
The ceremony to wish happy new year to Mrs Chantal Biya, spouse of the President of Cameroon this year came with an artistic touch.
The know-how of Cameroonian craftsmen and women was tested and proven by the success of the First Lady’s event in sounds and colors.
The choice of colors to decorate the gardens of the East Wing of the Unity Palace is the first thing that caught the attention of the guests. A blend of white, pink and red linen, natural and artificial flowers brought out the beauty of the green gardens.
The arrival of the close to One Thousand guests revealed it all.
The fashion design was the talk on every lip as every woman appeared unique in her dress, hairdo, shoes, nails and make up. About a thousand designs and hairstyles were present.

The quality of fashion designs made in Cameroon, hairstyles has opened a new debate as to the quality of fashion designers and Estheticians growing in the country. Especially at a time the President is calling on his citizens to consume made in Cameroon.
Rhythms From Cameroon Resonate At the Unity Palace
Some of Mrs Chantal Biya’s guests were musical artistes, 13 of them in number of different ages groups, regions of Cameroon and doing different genres of Music.
From musical gurus like Toto Guillaume and Ben Decca with the Makossa genre, through Ama Pierrot and Amel Diamand with the Bikutsi rhythm the First Lady’s guests danced to the gospel tune of the young Indira, njang by Witty Minstrel with ‘ Proud of whom we are.
The Mola Mogombe came down from Mount Fako with the cha-cha dance of the Bakweri people. Going up North, Isnebo bounced in with the Sudano- Sahelian rhythm. Niara la Bliss with the Ayanga rhythm from the East Region made the cultural circle complete
