CHAN 2022: Cameroon – Niger: The Final Before the Final
January 24’s match pitting the Intermediate Lions of Cameroon and the Mena of Niger is a major cracker of the 2022 African Nations Championship (CHAN).
This is because being in a group of three teams, the team that wins will successfully cross to the next stage of the competition.
Accordingly, the Coaches and Players of both teams have termed the match “a final”.

The Lions however have an upper hand as they need just a draw in order to qualify for the quarter finals.
The Mena on the other hand, absolutely need a victory in order to sail through.
In spite of these, the Intermediate Lions must not suffer a loss as this will mean their elimination from the competition. They must secure a victory or at least a draw game.
It is worth recalling that in the last meeting of the Intermediate Lions and the Mena on January 4, 2021, the Mena defeated the Lions by two goals to one.
The Intermediate Lions therefore have the pressure of winning tomorrow’s game in order to qualify for the quarter finals and also to return the 2 – 1 lashing received in their last match against the Mena.
